Pace the Ming Trace
The Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Ming Tombs, the Tiananmen Gate Tower and even the Great Wall all dated back to the Ming Dynasty, some 600 years ago. China was under the reign of the Ming for 276 years, from 1368 to 1644. In the early of the Ming, the seven voyages of discovery to the West by the great Chinese navigator ZHENG He (or CHENG Ho) started from Nanjing; in the late of the Ming, the capitalism was introduced into China. Though very little changes in this giant Ming Empire, China was known by and got to know the world. Acting a very important role in the Chinese history, the Ming Dynasty left us so many on earth constructions. China, a historic country, proud of its long history and rich heritages.
Day 01 Arrive Beijing (D)
Arrive in Beijing. Met and transferred to hotel for a 3 nights stay, take a leisurely stroll on the Tiananmen Square in the afternoon, the biggest public square in the world, before attending the welcome dinner.
Day 02 Beijing (B/L/D)
Drive north to visit the Great Wall at Badaling, the most famous section in Beijing. An afternoon tour to visit Dingling, one of the 13 Ming Tombs. It is the only emperorĄŻs tomb excavated by the scientific way in the history. People now get a chance to see what the underground palace for the emperor is alike. Followed, a special arranged drive-around tour for CTIĄŻs distinguished guests to have a close look of several other unopened tombs. By the year of 2008, all the 13 Ming Tombs will be repaired and opened to the public. Little time left to see them in the original status.
Day 03 Beijing (B/L/D)
Morning visit to the Forbidden City, which served as the imperial residence for Ming and Qing Dynasties and the largest ancient architectural structure in China today. Summit on the coal hill in Jingshan Park for the stunning panoramic views of the city. Afternoon visit to the Summer Place, regarded as a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design reconstructed on the Yuan Dynasty site. In the evening, attending the famous Peking Duck banquet.

Day 04 Beijing to XiĄŻan (B/D)
Visit to the Temple of Heaven in the morning, where the Ming and Qing emperors ended their ritual procession to worship and pray for good harvest. Then take flight to XiĄŻan, visit the Grand Mosque and the Muslim quarter, one of the largest Mosques in northwest China, characterized in Chinese style. Transfer to hotel for a 2 nights stay.
Day 05 XiĄŻan (B/L)
Drive out of the city to visit the remarkable Terra-Cotta Warriors with the Bronze Chariots & Horses, which were not unearthed until 1974 and acclaimed as the 8th wonder of the world. In the afternoon visit Ming Dynasty City Wall. This wall is the best preserved ancient martial fortress in China nowadays. Option of Tang era music and dance show with dinner in the evening.
Day 06 XiĄŻan to Nanjing (B/L/D)
Take morning flight to Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province. It served as the capital of Ming Dynasty from 1368 to 1409 for the first two emperors. The Zhonghua City Gate of the Ming City Wall in Nanjing is also the well preserved fortress with the most complicated building structure. The visit to the Nanjing Brocade Research Institute gives people the opportunity to know how advanced the textile technology was in the Ming Dynast, which was set up to study Ming Dynasty silk textile after the excavation of the Dingling in the Ming Tombs in Beijing. Transfer to hotel for a 2 nights stay.
Day 07 Nanjing (B/L/D)
Visit the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Moslem and the Sacred Way of Ming Xiaoling, the tomb for the first emperor of Ming Dynasty.
The afternoon is dedicated to the Confucius Temple & Bazaar. Here is for the ritual procession to worship and pray to the greatest ancient Chinese ideologist and educationist ¨C Confucius.
Day 08 Nanjing to Suzhou (B/L/D)
Drive about 3 hours to Suzhou, known as the Ą°Venice in the EastĄą, visit silk spinning factory, take a boat ride along the canal inside Suzhou and visit the ancient city gate ¨C Panmen, first built in 514 BC and ever renovated in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It served for both water way and land passing. Transfer to hotel for a 1 night stay.
Day 09 Suzhou to Shanghai (B/L/D)
The stay in Suzhou will be ended by the visit to the Garden of the Master of the Nets, the masterpiece of the private gardens in China. Drive about 1.5 hours to Shanghai. This city came to be the Ą°Paradise of Western Capitalist AdventurersĄą since the end of Qing Dynasty. After lunch, visit the Jade Buddha Temple built in 1882. Wandering around the former French concession ¨C Shikumen and strolling along the Bund, when it turns dark and all the surrounding is in lights. Transfer to hotel for a 2 nights stay.
Day 10 Shanghai (B/L/D)
Visit Yuyuan Garden, Huxin Teahouse with its intricate design, complete with beautiful pavilions, miniature lake bridges and rocks. Dim Sum lunch at Lubolang Restaurant. Browse at the old Bazaar at Chenghuangmiao.
Day 11 Depart Shanghai (B)
Transfer to Shanghai Pudong airport for flight back home.
